The SoPG is a unique capacity-building opportunity for young lawyers, researchers, policy workers and civil society actors to further their understanding and analysis of policy frameworks related to platform governance in Asia and explore strategies to hold platforms accountable. We invite participants from South and Southeast Asia to build their expertise and strengthen their capacity to advocate effectively for rights-based platform governance.

The workshop creates an opportunity for participants to engage with experts and practitioners currently working on platform and tech accountability at the regional and international level while building their capacity to impact change within their countries and outside.

The workshop will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 28 to 31 July 2025.

We aim to hold a space that will allow participants to:

• Enhance their knowledge on platform governance issues, including an understanding of the current policy landscape in Asia and other jurisdictions.
• Engage in discussions on key advocacy strategies to enforce rights-based national and international standards on platform governance in Asia.
• Develop a common consensus and principles that can guide regional and national-level policy engagement with governments, regulators and platforms.
