The Global Investigative Journalism Network serves as the international hub for the world's investigative reporters. Its core mission is to support and strengthen investigative journalism around the world, with special attention given to journalists from repressive regimes and marginalized communities. At the heart of GIJN is an international association of nonprofit journalism organizations. Since its founding in 2003, GIJN has grown to include 263 member groups in 97 countries. Today, with a staff based in over 20 countries, GIJN works in a dozen languages to connect the world's most enterprising journalists, providing them with the tools, technology, and training to investigate abuses of power and a lack of accountability.
